6 Simple Home Styling Do’s & Don’ts
Styling your home is a personal thing, however there are a few simple principles that can elevate your space from amateur to design pro. See our favourites below.
Stay away from matching furniture sets. Although there should be a cohesive thread (colour, tone, style or texture) in the furniture you choose, matching sets can look cheap, thoughtless and don't give the sense of cultivated style
2. Buy art/prints as big as possible to create a high-end feel
3. Display art at eye level rather than excessively high up on the wall (if you spend most of your time sitting in a room, display your art at that level)
4. Instead of scattering decorative pieces across an entire shelf, group your personal items, books and vases, layering different heights and textures together with clear negative space left - less is often more
5. Put your curtain rails up as high up as possible to make the room feel bigger (not just where the window starts)
6. Place furniture away from the walls where possible to create cosy sitting spaces and a more luxurious feel
